Discrimination is illegal throughout the state of Massachusetts. It is
against the law to deny anyone housing based on any of the following:
Race, Color, Sex, National Origin, Religion, Children or Family Status,
Disability, Marital Status, Age (except minors), Sexual Orientation, Veteran
Status, Ancestry, Source of Income, Housing subsidies or rental assistance.
The Mass. Fair Housing Center provides education, counseling and free
legal services for anyone who has been illegally denied housing.
The Mass. Fair Housing Center does not stop at people who experience
discrimination. We work to educate everyone about their rights and
responsibilities under the fair housing laws and to bring communities
together to strengthen the fight against discrimination. The Mass. Fair
Housing Center serves the community in many ways by:
-
Conducting education
workshops on fair housing issues
-
Investigating claims
of housing discrimination
-
Providing free legal
assistance to the victims of discrimination
-
Working closely with
city governments and housing providers on fair housing issues
-
Requiring all
members of the housing provider community to stop illegal discriminatory
practices

Founded in 1969, RCAP Solutions is a comprehensive $25 million nonprofit
community development corporation providing direct services and consultation
to over 300 communities throughout northeast U.S., Puerto Rico and the U.S.
Virgin Islands. We strive to be the first choice of small and rural
communities for the kind of planning, consulting and direct services that in
large cities would be provided by dozens of different departments and
private entities. Our staff provides a highly integrated suite of services
through cross-disciplinary project teams of skilled field specialists and
corporate resources in three areas: community infrastructure, housing
assistance and supportive services, and real estate services.
