DIAL/SELF Teen Services is a community-based non-profit agency dedicated to promoting the health and positive development of teens in Franklin and Hampshire Counties and the North Quabbin region.  DIAL/SELF offers three main programs, STEP (Transition-to-Independent Living), YouthServ AmeriCorps, and TeenLine. TeenLine has recently opened a satellite branch in the North Quabbin and is providing free clinical services, information and referral, and case management to North Quabbin youth and their families. DIAL/SELF services are free! The Greater Athol Area Advocates for Families with Special Needs (GAAAFSN), a program of The Association for Community Living, provides community-based family and individual supports/services to people with Mental Retardation and other specific developmental disabilities. In order to access supports, the child or adult must be eligible for Department of Mental Retardation services. These supports/services include:

If you’re a young parent 21 and under and this is your first child Healthy Families is a state-wide program that can help you become the parent that you know you can be.  In this program, you get to decide when and where you’d like to meet and work with your Home Visitor to achieve the goals that you set for yourself in life and being a parent.  It’s also a great place to network and meet other young parents and find our what services there are for you in the community.  All of our services are free and confidential.  Here, it is all about you and your child!

Seeds of Solidarity brings to life the connection between environmental and social justice issues through research, demonstration, and hands-on education. Our work is a response to the inequitable distribution of resources and ecological destruction that plague communities locally and globally. We partner with the schools to promote wellness through school gardens and greenhouses. Seeds of Solidarity Education Center provides educational programs that promote regional food and energy self-reliance. We try to contribute to the vitality of the area through our SOL (Seeds of Leadership) Garden program for area teenagers, and through the annual North Quabbin Garlic and Arts Festival.

Family Planning provides reproductive health care, birth control counseling, STD and HIV screening and HIV/substance abuse counseling for Franklin/Hampshire County & North Quabbin residents.

The Athol office is open on Wednesdays from 12 - 5 p.m. and has a clinician and a counselor onsite. When the office is closed the Athol phone number rings through to the Greenfield office.

Community Action!  Youth Programs provides free prevention and enrichment programs to low-income youth and young adults (ages 6 to 21) in Hampshire County, Franklin County, and the North Quabbin region. Many activities are offered, including prevention groups, enrichment activities, recreation programming, peer leadership opportunities and individual counseling and advocacy.

HIPP (Help Increase the Peace Project):  HIPP is an interactive and engaging program based on active learning and collaboration. Through 3-day workshops, participants build skills for responding to conflict without violence and analyze social injustice. There are three levels of training: Basic, Advanced, and Training for Trainers. GLASS (Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Society): A confidential social/support group for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth and their straight allies. Youth Action Initiative-Standing Up to Big Tobacco:  The corporate tobacco industry, or "Big Tobacco," has its influence in every corner of society.   The trick is being aware that the influence is out there and then working to counter the industry message.   The North Quabbin has one of the highest use rates in the state.  Young people have the power and the creativity to take on the challenge of standing up to Big Tobacco.  Youth earn stipends for completing store advertising surveys and developing a plan to counter Big Tobacco’s influence in the North Quabbin. Contact: Tom

Cost is $1.00 per visit or $15 per month or $60 for the whole school year, members of the Y.M.C.A. are FREE! No one will be turned away due to inability to pay. This program is open to Middle School age students throughout the nine town North Quabbin Region. (Athol, Erving, Orange, New Salem, Petersham, Phillipston, Royalston, Warwick, Wendell)

YouthReach! is your arts, sports and fitness based after school program for North Quabbin Middle School kids, grades 6-8. We offer the opportunity to explore your imagination and creativity as well as the space and time to be yourself and have fun. Including the following:
