The group was recognized for continuous community service efforts helping to improve the quality of life across the North Quabbin region. Pictured are members of the group and participants in a recent workshop teaching folks to make 'winserts', which are window inserts to help minimize drafts around windows.
The Alzheimers Center @ Quabbin Valley Healthcare was recently recognized for their volunteer community service efforts! Many residents on this 42 bed unit volunteer for multiple projects that assist the community. Available for the photo were left to right front: Anita Dack, Dorothy Porn and Antoinette Duhaime. Rear: Lisa Bezio, Alzheimer's Activity Assistant and Karen Varnum, Alzheimer's Activity Director. Local Directors of Veterans’ Services for the North Quabbin region, Neil McGuirk, left, and the Central Franklin County District, Leo Parent, were presented with a Spotlight Award. They were recognized for continued community service efforts to help improve the quality of life in the North Quabbin region. Executive Director Rebecca Bialecki of the North Quabbin Community Coalition presented local resident, Richard Hall, with a Spotlight Award. He was recognized for his dedication and commitment to community service efforts in the North Quabbin region. The Athol High School's National Honor Society was given a Spotlight Award for their continued community service efforts to help improve the quality of life in the North Quabbin region. Recognized specifically for the response to the needs of the community in the North Quabbin towns during and following the ice storm of December 2008.
The Athol Heating Task Force was recognized for its collaborative efforts toward prevention and safety. The Coalition presented Early Childhood Educators of the region with a Spotlight Award at an appreciation dinner held in their honor. They were recognized for their contribution to helping improve the quality of life for families in the North Quabbin.
